The Money Dashboard

A budget planner, emergency-fund tracker, debt payoff simulator and savings goals — all in one page, all worked out in your browser.

Your month

Tag every expense as a need, a want, or saving and debt payoff. Minimum debt payments are needs; anything above the minimum counts as saving.

Where your money goes

Updated as you type.

Nothing leaves this device. There is no account and no server: your figures are stored in this browser only. Clearing site data erases them, so use Export if you want a copy.

Emergency fund

Base the target on essential spending — rent, food, utilities, transport, insurance, minimum debt payments — not on your income.

Your target

Three months is the usual default; six if you are a single income or self-employed.

Your debts

Name, balance, APR and minimum payment for each one. Add the spare amount you can send at the target debt each month.

Payoff plan

Simulated month by month, including interest that accrues while you pay.

Savings goals

Expected-but-irregular costs belong here, not in the emergency fund: car servicing, insurance renewals, Christmas, the annual dentist.

How to use these

Give every goal a date and a monthly amount, then automate that transfer for the day after payday. A goal without a standing transfer is a wish.

Keep sinking funds separate from your emergency fund, or the emergency fund will be permanently half-empty and you will never know whether you are covered.
